The Distra Universal Payments Platform (UPP) provides complete and secure management, authorisation, routing and real-time monitoring solution for POS devices.
The high levels of availability, performance and scalability inherent in the Distra UPP, obviate the need for stand-alone acquiring gateway solutions and the like, reducing complexity, cost and improving visibility and management of the POS operations.
By providing direct device driving capabilities, not only are costs reduced but core features of the Distra UPP are readily available, including real-time access to data allowing viewing of device totals, status and reporting in real-time as well as enabling real-time provisioning of new devices.
The Distra UPP encompasses these features and specifically provides the following POS payments functionality:
- A configuration profile for each terminal including security information and device capabilities
- Terminal configuration including any managed files and device artifacts
- Administrative information, such as contact details for the owner of the device for administrative purposes
- Real-Time monitoring and provisioning of devices
The Distra processing model isolates the physical terminal hardware/vendor specifics of particular POS devices from transaction processing behavior and business rules. This decoupling provides choice of device vendor and interface specification capability whilst providing a transparent view of the business rules assigned.
The Distra UPP supports ISO8583 based POS devices with many options which include reconciliation, security and session management including 3DES, dynamic key schemes and different transaction capture modes. This includes online and batch capture, as well as many different transaction types including purchase, purchase with cash, refunds and voids, balance enquiries, statements, payments and funds transfers.
The real-time monitoring allows for instant access to terminal data such as totals, transaction and batch logs, combined with the Web Services gateway opens up many opportunities to integrate the Distra UPP with merchant management systems and portals.
Finally, the Distra UPP’s ability to readily manage and process additional data means that the POS device no longer processes just POS payments. Opportunities exist to start open the solution up to other industries, with Distra presently providing POS solutions for the healthcare and welfare market.
