NAB reveals that next generation payments technology from local Australian company Distra is a key component of their strategy to transform merchant payment services.
Commenting on the Distra retail payments switch that has been operating successfully in production for several months, Peter Roeleven of National Australia Bank said, “We identified Distra as the technology provider that could satisfy the emerging requirements from a growing number of sophisticated merchant clients. Key deliverables of the contract were adaptability, visibility, real time reporting, scalability, speed to market and competitive transaction cost.”
During the evaluation process, a proof of concept implementation of the Distra Switch significantly exceeded expectations according to the bank.
Roeleven went on to say, “The bank has been impressed with the performance of the technology to date. Distra has worked closely with us to ensure the successful delivery, implementation and support for our system. We are now working with Distra on a range of value adding services to meet the growing needs of our business customers and help them to achieve their own objectives.”
Mike Aston, CEO of Distra said “NAB has been an important early customer for Distra. They have been blazing a trail in the transformation of payment services that we now see being followed in new customer engagements around the world. Together NAB and Distra have laid the foundations of a new agile, real-time payments platform that will provide the bank with an early lead on the transforming payments market.”
