Distra, the next generation real time payments processing software provider, exhibited at this year’s premier financial services event, Sibos 2008 held September 15-19 Vienna, Austria.
Distra has participated at the annual Sibos event for the past three years. This year, Distra attracted many of the 7,000 industry leading figures whom attended the event, with their tier one, real time next generation payments processing solution demonstrated live on the Distra stand. The event addressed the regulatory and technological challenges faced by the financial services market globally, Sibos presenting an optimal opportunity for Distra to showcase the solution, the Distra Switch, which played a key role in the recent success of the Faster Payments Service launched in the UK earlier this year. The latest Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS) quarterly statistics report, revealed by the end of June 2008, 4.5 million payments had been processed for a value of £2.5 billion by the UK Faster Payments Service, processing almost 250,000 payments every day.
Distra CEO, Mike Aston said, “Sibos 2008 presents not only a great forum in which to showcase Distra’s next generation payments products but also a unique opportunity to network with a large number of the world’s senior payments executives. Distra enjoyed a growing interest from delegates in our proven tier 1 payment solutions, now recognised as a truly viable and cost effective first step in migrating from legacy systems. Headquartered in the AsiaPacific region, Distra naturally looks forward with interest to attending Sibos 2009 in Hong Kong”.
