National Australia Bank has signed up to the federal government's scheme to process Medicare refunds via the Eftpos network. It is understood NAB has agreed to offer the Medicare electronic claiming facility from Eftpos terminals. A formal announcement is expected imminently. The Eftpos refund scheme means patients at doctor's surgeries will soon be able to have refunds credited directly into their bank accounts when they visit the doctor, rather than visiting a Medicare branch office or mailing a form.
