Distra are to sponsor the annual event, Cards and Payments Australasia to be held 23-27 March, 2009, Sydney.
Cards & Payments Australasia 2009 will bring together decision makers from Australia and around the world to discuss ways to promote competition and efficiency in Australia's payments systems.
Distra's CEO, Mike Aston, will be leading the roundtable on day two of the event, 25th March, addressing the topic: Merchant services - what do they and other parties in the value chain want?. On day three, 26th March, Mike Aston will also be participating in the panel discussion, "What is holding back innovation in Australia's Payments market?", addressing the following key issues:
- How will FIs meet the challenges of disruptive innovations from new entrants?
- Cost reduction vs. revenue generation and customer acquisition as key drivers of payments innovation
- Which is more effective - new product development or multichannel
access? - Surveying which payment types will take off first - micro, online, mobile, contactless
